Ruby Pendant
In the medieval canon of sacred geometry, the four-petaled bloom, known as the quadrafolium, appears as a quiet emblem of harmony. Found carved into cloistered stone, illuminated in manuscripts, and woven through centuries of decorative arts, it represents the union of earth’s elemental balance. The quadrafolium has always been a symbol not merely of beauty, but of blessing.
Folium’s Quadrafolium Collection draws from this lineage, transforming the ancient four-petal motif into sculptural jewels for modern life. Each piece begins with the geometry itself: a perfect quartet of rounded leaves, poised around a luminous center stone. Sapphire, diamond, or a glowing spinel becomes the heart of the bloom, echoing the way a flower gathers light at its core. Around it, Myles Ryan engraves delicate ridges and petal lines, reminiscent of manuscript ornamentation and the hand-chiseled reliefs of goldwork…rendered with the precision and warmth of a master goldsmith.
Quadrafolium distills the idea of a single, eternal blossom: one form, repeated across jewels, each iteration a meditation on symmetry, fortune, and grace. The signature four-petal silhouette becomes a modern talisman, carrying forward a centuries-old belief that the quadrafolium brings protection and the quiet confidence that one is exactly where they are meant to be. In pendant form, the Quadrafolium becomes a poetic emblem worn close to the heart, a small luminous compass guiding the wearer toward alignment. Earrings echo as twin blossoms suspended in air. Rings bloom at the hand like miniature architectural rosettes, with engraved petals capturing shadows and light with sculptural depth.
Together, these jewels form an illuminated manuscript in metal and stone. Quadrafolium honors the past by carrying its symbols forward, transmuted through handwork, storytelling, and the quiet magic of repetition. It is a collection for those who believe in elegance, and the enduring power of a perfectly balanced bloom.

Frequently asked questions
Folium works exclusively with precious metals, specifically 18k yellow and white gold, as well as platinum, and carefully selected gemstones. Materials are chosen for their beauty, durability, and longevity, designed to age with grace over decades, not seasons.
Custom work is a pillar of Folium. We welcome personal symbols, engravings, and bespoke adaptations of our designs. Custom commissions are handled on a limited basis to ensure thoughtful collaboration and craftsmanship. Contact directly to discuss your vision.
Because each piece is made by hand, production times vary. In-stock designs typically ship within 2 weeks, and wholesale store orders in 4-6 weeks. Custom and engraved pieces require additional time, usually around 8-12 weeks. We believe patience is part of the value of the object.
Folium ships to the USA and Canada. Shipping times and duties vary by destination and are the responsibility of the recipient. All shipments are securely packaged and fully insured.
Folium jewelry is made to be worn, but we recommend removing pieces during heavy activity or chemical exposure. Over time, precious metals can develop a natural patina; many collectors consider this part of the piece’s story.
Due to the handcrafted and often personalized nature of our work, most pieces are final sale. If you have concerns about fit or details, we encourage reaching out before placing your order and we’re happy to guide you.
